An evening at the award-winning British Empire & Commonwealth Museum

| British Empire and Commonwealth Museum

To celebrate their nomination for The Art Fund Prize for Museums and Galleries, the British Empire & Commonwealth Museum in Bristol, is inviting members to a special evening reception.

The powerful and memorable exhibition, ‘Breaking the Chains’, commemorates the bicentenary of the abolition of the British slave trade. It reminds us of the suffering of those enslaved by the transatlantic trade, using authentic artefacts, film, music, photography, video and personal testimonies. Guests are invited to enjoy a glass of wine and a talk by the Director, Dr Gareth Griffiths, followed by a private view of the exhibition and the permanent collection.
