Breamore House and Countryside Museum is temporarily closed until further notice. Please check the venue's website for the latest details.

Built in 1583 and virtually unchanged for 400 years, Breamore House has been home to nine generations of the Hulse family.

Surrounded by beautiful parkland on the edge of the New Forest, Breamore is an Elizabethan manor house of supreme grandeur and magnificence.

Permanent collection

Visitors can enjoy seeing a wide variety of paintings as well as tapestries, porcelain, 17th-century needlework and a rare James I carpet. The house is also home to many fine examples of period furniture. In the Countryside Museum there are displays of traditional village trades and crafts (including a blacksmith, a wheelwright, a cobbler, a baker, a clock maker, a dairy, a brewery, a school and a village shop), a traction engine, tractors, farm implements and tools.
