The Jurassic Coast is seen through the eyes of a local landscape artist.

Gardiner has spent several decades exploring the ancient history of the Jurassic Coast, taking long walks, boat rides and flights across the area. His work is inspired by the cliffs, beaches, landslides and caves he found there, as well as real specimens of fossils from along the coast.

Attempting to emulate the effects of geological time, his working method involves building up layers of paint, before scouring, collaging and sanding down. Shown alongside is an accurate 3D map displaying the locations which informed the pictures.
