An exhibition of sculptural works from the Arts Council collection chosen by British artist Brian Griffiths, best known for his witty and inventive sculptures that have a peculiarly English realism.
Brian Griffiths is the sculptor who uses found objects and invokes the power of the imagination to transform the most mundane of materials. From fun fairs to elephants, he builds magical assemblages out of junk.
He was invited by the Arts Council to choose a selection of artworks from the collection that explore similar themes to his own work. These include objects that look at time, movement, travel and the narrative potential of objects.
