Lecture: 'Sisley's Seascapes' by Professor Ann Sumner

| Digby Memorial Church Hall

Ann Sumner co-curated the exhibition ‘Sisley in England and Wales’ which, after a successful run at the National Gallery in London will at the time of the lecture have moved to the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. This lecture is based on a little known aspect of Sisley’s life and developed from new research unearthed during the four years she spent working on the exhibition. Alfred Sisley, a leading figure in the Impressionist movement was the only ‘Englishman’ among the French Impressionists. Professor Ann Sumner is Director of the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, University of Birmingham.
