Explore London's witch-ridden, pagan past with Maria Beadell, founder of Herstorical Tours

Please note this is NOT a ZOOM Lecture but an in person lecture. Did you know that London has a long, dark history of witchcraft and persecution? Maria runs a highly popular immersive walking tour in London called Hex and the City which explores the history of London witches and their persecution from the early modern period up til the mid 20th century. In this talk created especially for the Last Tuesday Society, Maria will give you a preview of the tour by introducing some of the forgotten women that were branded as witches, and an overview of the history of the ‘witch craze’, both in London and beyond. How and why did it start, who were targeted? and what were the consequences?
