Museums and galleries are vital spaces for everyone. That’s why we support them to do more for audiences everywhere. Our work is made possible by our 151,000 members who buy the National Art Pass, as well as the generosity of many trusts, foundations and other individuals. You can read all about it in our latest report, Art Fund in 2019.
We’re helping museums to build collections
Our acquisition grants help museums to buy works of art, and we make between £4m and £5m available for this every year. We help to fund new acquisitions, conservation projects and commissions because we believe collections should always evolve – telling new stories in a changing world.
We’re helping to share more art with everyone
Our funding supports exhibitions and tours in every region of the UK. We want more people to see more art, and this means helping museums around the country to reach new audiences and collaborate more closely with each other.
We’re strengthening curatorial skills and expertise
Curators are brimming with ideas, but in an increasingly difficult funding climate for museums, specialist skills and knowledge are at risk in the long term. With your support, we’re working to ensure that curators can further their professional development, share their expertise and do more for audiences everywhere.
We’re bringing everyone together to support museums
Our work is made possible by our 151,000 members and by our wider network of trusts, foundations and donors. But as a supporter you’re doing more than helping to raise funds for our programmes. You’re playing a crucial role in the thriving community of museums and galleries whose work is vital to the UK’s social and cultural wealth.
