A collection of 19 studies of trees from Westall's voyage to Australia, China and India.

Westall was employed as a landscape artist on HMS Investigator which charted the coast of Australia. When the Investigator became un-seaworthy, Westall continued of his own accord to China and then proceeded to India via the Straits of Malacca. The trees include the Calabash tree, Tamarind, Castor Oil Tree, Pimento, Palms and Bamboo.

Westall family by descent to the vendor.
