Art Fund Museum of the Year celebrates exceptional museums, galleries and historic houses, recognises imaginative work, and inspires more people to engage.

The 2022 prize will be more important than ever in championing the UK’s vital museums, and Art Fund is seeking applications from organisations whose achievements tell the story of the creativity and resilience of the sector, with a particular focus on engaging audiences of today and the future in ways that can be sustained.

Freelands Art Fund Acquisition

This new partnership between Freelands Foundation and Art Fund offers grants of up to £50,000 for museums to acquire contemporary art and increase public access to work by women artists in the UK.

New Collecting Awards

These awards provide funding for curators to pursue new avenues of collecting for their museums and build critical professional skills.

Jonathan Ruffer curatorial grants

Museum Development Network

with Art Fund

A new funding partnership with the Museum Development Network (MDN) to reach museums across all nations of the UK who have not yet received emergency grants or smaller museums fulfilling specific cultural or local needs.
