Beach at low tide, in rich morning or evening light with the sun reflected in glistening sands.

A group of fishermen and women stand in the foreground, with a horse, various baskets and the day's catch. It was this type of work by Bonington that JWM Turner later famously paid hommage to with his work 'Calais Sands' (1830).
