A view of London with St.

Paul's Cathedral in the background. In the foreground is the New River Head, a reservoir which collected water from Hertfordshire. The building on the left is the Water House and further to the left, among the trees is Sadler's Wells, which was then one of a number of health resorts in Islington. The area was owned by the New River Company and remained open fields until the 1820s.
