Thought to be the third ('Clock C') in a group of marine timekeepers produced to overcome the problem of finding longitude at sea.

Hours and quarters are struck in passing on two bells, and the balance beats half-seconds. Located in Royal Observatory.


Title was established when the timekeeper was exported from France to Switzerland in 1996 (legally exported with an export licence granted by France). Previous owners details remain anonymous.
