Asquith took his inspiration for this piece from a fish, using the form of a whole salmon to create the object. The pierced and engraved designs represent running water, giving the impression of a fish swimming in water. The Castle Museum has an outstanding collection of English domestic silver including fish slices by makers such as Paul Storr. This contemporary piece shows the continuation of good design and craftsmanship in silver today.
