John, 2nd Marquess of Tweeddale
- Art Funded
- 76 x 63 cm
For a time, Tweeddale seems to have been undecided whether or not to support the Union. He headed the 'squadrone volante', a group of influential men who took a middle course in the question of union with England. In the end, they came down in favour of the Union and became some of the Union's strongest supporters.
By descent in the Tweeddale family; Peter Morris.
