These major pieces of Sevres porcelain of the Napoleonic period consist of a vase for ice cream (glaciere a gorge a tetes d'elephant) and a plate, both from a dessert service made between 1811 and 1817 described in the factory's records as the service iconographique grec.

The glaciere is decorated with onyx cameos by Degault, of Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar. The plate is painted with a fictive cameo of Archiloque, the lyric poet Archilochus.
