Decorated with secular subjects.
Sides show scenes of lovers talking and embracing beneath trees. Inner lid is gilded and painted with the Annunciation. Inside is a painted cloth showing John Talbot, and his wife Maud kneeling at the foot of the cross. This may have been inserted in the 1840's by Pugin or Thomas Willement.
