Silver Penny of King Edgar, from the Gloucester Mint.

The Gloucester mint was first recorded under Alfred and not closed until after the death of Henry III. On one side, a profile bust of the king wearing a diadem with the legend EADGAR REX ANGLOR, and reads on the other WYNSIGE ON GLEAV, the moneyer.
