The Coffee-pot is octagonal sided in the Queen Anne style.

The Jug, although it matches the style of the pot and was made in same year, is different due to its low lid; raising doubts as to whether it was intended as a set. May even be a tea-pot itself.

Provenance

Made for George Baillie and Lady Grisel Baillie of Jerviswood and Mellerstain whose arms they bear; their daughter and heir, Rachel married Lord Binning and the plate descended in that family.
