Vanni was a Sienese artist attracted to Rome by the patronage of his compatriot, the Chigi pope, Alexander VII and combines the classicism of his Roman training with the graceful colour and sentiment of his native school.
Thought to have belonged to the second Sir Francis Dashwood, Lord Le Despencer. Morton Morris & Co.
