De Blieck painted two versions of this scene.

Differences in the appearance of the church in the paintings and drawings verify that de Blieck altered his compositions freely. In this painting the nave has been lengthened by two columns, giving the interior an invented grandeur of breadth and width. The artist also added a pulpit at the middle columns to balance the view of the elongated nave.
