This pair of cups are a rare example of work by the Glasgow-based silversmith, thought to have immigrated from Germany, who trained with Alexander Kincaid.

They were ordered after four ‘Presbytery investigationsÂ’ complained of the churchÂ’s lack of communionware. Contributions were collected in the parish, and they were purchased for £11 and eight shillings.

Provenance

Found in possession of Drymen Parish Church in 1986
