The unusual design, featuring two birds fighting over a snake surrounded by tulips and forget-me-nots, is painted and signed by Charles Passenger, one of De Morgans chief decorators. Nature in Art is a museum dedicated to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature, a theme to which De Morgan was much devoted.
