Charity and Justice by William Hamo Thornycroft

Charity and Justice is the full-size plaster model for one of the two bronze reliefs on the base of the memorial to General Gordon, a statue by Thornycroft erected in Trafalgar Square in 1888.

The memorial, later moved to Victoria Embankment, is much admired, and the model now joins the Thornycroft archive given to Leeds City Art Gallery in 1982.
