The Eumorfopoulos Collection: Jade
- Art Funded
- G Eumorfopoulos
Though he had intended to bequeath the collection to the nation, the Depression of the 1930s forced him instead to sell it to the nation at a preferential rate. The jade collection was remarkable for the range of colour and beauty of surfaces as seen in a series of pis and ts'ungs from pre-Han times, also blades and axe heads. From the period of the six dynasties: a horses head in glaucous green jade and a ring in the form of a dragon.
