Barrada is a critically acclaimed Morrocan/French artist and member of the Arab Image Foundation.

These 3 photographs are monumental depictions of Moroccan would-be migrants preparing for their illegal passage across the Strait of Gibraltar, from Africa to Europe. The figures are eerily anonymous, as they have burnt their passports and cover their faces. Sleepers opens up the topical and controversial issue of migration. These prints were presented by the Art Fund under the Art Fund International scheme and link to Bristol's historic collections as well as adding to its collection of lens-based media works built up through the scheme. Presented by the Art Fund through Art Fund International.
