Student Art Pass

Please read carefully these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). You should understand that by using this website and/or submitting a Student membership application online, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy and Cookies notice which sets out full details for how we handle your personal data.

Art Fund is the operating name of the National Art Collections Fund (“Art Fund”), a charity registered in England and Wales with charity number 209174 and in Scotland with charity number SC038331. The address of The National Art Collections Fund is 2 Granary Square, King's Cross, London N1C 4BH. The website at www.studentartpass.org (“the Website”) is operated by Art Fund. In these Terms, references to “Art Fund” or “us” or “we” should be read as referring to The National Art Collections Fund.

These Terms shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

1.Membership eligibility and benefits

Eligibility

1.1. Student membership of the Art Fund through the purchase of a Student Art Pass is open to students at a degree-granting university or college geographically located in the United Kingdom.

1.2. You must be aged 18 years or over, living in the United Kingdom, and studying on a full-time basis in a United Kingdom Higher Education institution for either an undergraduate level qualification or a post-graduate qualification.

1.3. Open University, distance learning and part-time courses do not qualify for Student membership of the Art Fund.

1.4. Applicants on Graduate Training Schemes are considered as being in full-time employment and are not entitled to Student membership.

1.5. We may ask you at any time to provide proof of enrolment and documentation supporting your eligibility for Student membership. Failure to provide the documentation requested within 10 workings days will result in the cancellation of your membership, and any Student Art Pass received prior to the cancellation of your membership must be returned to us.

1.6. Art Fund reserves the right to reject applications for student membership at its sole discretion.

1.7. Student membership of Art Fund costs £5 for all eligible students. Membership is available for free to University of the Arts London (UAL) Foundation and first year students, thanks to the generous support of Eric and Jean Cass. All categories of application will be accepted until 9 December 2018, while stocks last.

Benefits

1.8. Student membership of the Art Fund includes:

  • One named Student Art Pass valid for a year; and
  • Art in your Inbox subscription, an e-newsletter sent to members fortnightly. A guide to art across the UK with suggestions on how members can make the most of their Student Art Pass, it also includes updates on Art Funds charitable work and activities.

1.9. Student membership does not include the Art Map publication and Art Quarterly.

1.10. Foundation and first year students at the University of the Arts London (UAL) who have applied for a free Student membership will receive one named Student Art Pass valid until 31 October 2019.

2. Applications for membership

How to apply

2.1. Applications for Student membership must be made online by completing the Student Art Pass application form at studentartpass.org.

Payment

2.2. Payment can be made by Credit or Debit card and your subscription fee will be debited at the time of your application

2.3. You must not use borrowed, stolen or forged payment methods to make your payment. Should you do so, you agree to accept full responsibility for such action and to indemnify the Art Fund in respect of all actions, claims, damages, liability, fees, costs and expenses whatsoever that arise as a result of such actions.

Refunds

2.4. Membership of the Art Fund through the purchase of a Student Art Pass is a form of charitable giving. Once a subscription has been paid and a Student Art Pass has been issued, no refunds can be made.

Submission of information/data

2.5. Where information (including sensitive, financial or personal information) is provided to Art Fund (whether directly through the Website or otherwise) you accept that these methods of communication cannot be 100% secure. Where financial information is provided to Art Fund it uses encryption software to attempt to prevent unauthorised access to this information being obtained. However, Art Fund cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any damages (other than liability for death or physical injury arising out of the negligence of the Art Fund or its officers or any liabilities that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded) arising from the misuse or loss of data or information submitted by you to the Art Fund directly through the Website or otherwise.

2.6. The provision of personal information by you and use of it by the Art Fund is subject to the Art Fund’s Privacy and Cookies notice, which is incorporated in these Terms.

3. Delivery

3.1. Your Student Art Pass will be delivered to the address that you provide when you complete the online application form.

3.2. Delivery is by Royal Mail second class service and it is free. Applicants are advised to allow ten working days from the date of the application for the card to arrive.

4. Using your Student Art Pass

4.1. Student membership includes one named Student Art Pass entitling the holder to all National Art Pass discounts as listed on Art Fund’s website, artfund.org.

4.2. Student Art Passes are valid until the date of expiry shown on the card and are non-transferable.

4.3. The Student Art Pass is proof of your membership of the Art Fund and it must be presented to gain free or discounted entry to the relevant museums, galleries and historic properties.

4.3.1 Members that do not have a valid Student Art Pass with them will be asked to pay the full entry fee and refunds cannot be given at a later date.

4.3.2. When admission tickets to venues are booked online or by telephone, the Student Art Pass must be shown at point of collection.

4.4. Admission discounts and offers provided by the venues are subject to change from time to time. Where possible, changes will be published on the Art Fund’s website artfund.org. We strongly advise members to contact the individual venues before visiting to prevent disappointment.

5. Replacements

5.1. Lost Student Art Passes will be replaced once free of charge. Any subsequent replacement cards will incur an administration free of £5.00.

5.2. Art Fund reserves the right to reject requests for additional replacement cards where at least two replacement cards have been issued within a period of six months.

6. Use of this Website

Copyright and trademarks

6.1. As a visitor to this Website, you may download a single copy of the material on the Website to a single computer or other device for your own private viewing/listening purposes only and print a single copy of the same for the sole purpose of retaining a copy for your own personal records only.

6.2. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as conferring any wider licence to use or reproduce any material included on the Website and you understand and agree that the copyright and all other rights in the material on the Website (including, in particular, but not limited to the images displayed on the Website) are owned by the Art Fund or are included with the permission of the owner of the rights. Copying or distribution of material on the Website for any commercial or business purpose and photography, filming, broadcast, alteration or modification of the pages of the Website (for any purpose) is strictly prohibited.

6.3. No use of the name, logos and/or other trade marks of the Art Fund (whether registered or unregistered) may be made by you without the separate express written agreement of the Art Fund.

Prohibited use

6.4. You agree not to use the Website:

  • to create a database (electronic or otherwise) that includes material downloaded or otherwise obtained from the Website;
  • to disseminate advertisements or for any other commercial purposes (which would include using the Website to promote or encourage the sale of your goods/services);
  • to transmit or re-circulate any material obtained from the Website to any third party except where expressly permitted on the Website or the App;
  • in such a way so as to remove the copyright or trade mark notice(s) from any copies of any material made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions;
  • to disseminate any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes", or any other form of solicitation;
  • to disseminate any material which is abusive, defamatory or obscene, may harass, offend or inconvenience any person, applauds, encourages or entices abuse, discrimination or criminal activity or which might restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Website by any person
  • to disseminate any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, damage, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment;
  • in any way that might infringe third party privacy or other rights, is unlawful or that might bring the Art Fund or any of its associates into disrepute; or
  • to post link(s) that take users to material that contravenes any of the above restrictions.

Information and availability

6.5. Whilst we take every care to ensure that the information on the Website is accurate and complete, some of it may be supplied to us by third parties and we are unable to check its accuracy or completeness. You are advised to verify the accuracy of any information before relying on it. Further, due to the inherent nature of the Internet, errors, interruptions and delays may occur in the service at any time. Accordingly, the Website are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind and we do not accept any liability arising from any inaccuracy or omission in the information or interruption in availability.

Linking to the Website and links to other websites

6.6. We welcome 'hot links' to the Home Page of our Website, studentartpass.org, but not 'deep linking' by which we mean that you may not include a link to any page of our Website that is not the Home Page. Neither may you display the contents of our Website (or any page from it), or allow such content to be displayed surrounded or framed or otherwise surrounded by material not originating from us without our consent.

6.7. On the Website you may be offered automatic links to other Websites. Whilst we hope you will be interested in those websites, you acknowledge that the content on those pages is not subject to our control, their owners may be independent from us and we do not endorse or accept any responsibility for their content.

Computer viruses

6.8. We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the Website does not contain or promulgate any viruses or other malicious code. However, it is recommended that you should virus check all materials downloaded from the Website and regularly check for the presence of viruses and other malicious code. We exclude to the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws all liability in connection with any damage or loss caused by computer viruses or other malicious code originating or contracted from the Website.

7. Variation of these terms and conditions

7. Art Fund reserves the right to vary these Terms from time to time. Such variations shall become effective immediately upon the posting on the Website. These Terms were last updated on 30 August 2018.
