Enhance your existing drawing skills and use a variety of techniques and materials, set in the beautiful Chatsworth Garden art studio, The Old Potting Shed.
Led by experienced artist and teacher, Kim Bevan, the course is best suited for those who have some existing drawing experience. The sessions are structured to build confidence, encourage regular sketching habits and give you the tools to push your drawings further.
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss and review your work with fellow participants.
The course will cover:
Studying a variety of techniques and materials, including: pencil, tone, and colour through still life, and exploring coloured pastels with blending, line, and colour theory
Experiment with ink using brushes and tools for mark making, pattern, and expressive drawing
Matisse-inspired collage and tonal compositions
Life drawing, working from sculpture and applying measuring techniques with a range of materials to capture the figure
Our tutor will be on hand throughout the day to encourage you, and answer your questions.
This session offers a special opportunity to access Chatsworth Garden during the workshop, while it's closed for winter.
All equipment and materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing equipment if you wish.

Opening times
Chatsworth is open from mid-March to early January, and closed 24 - 26 December and 1 January. Art Pass discount is not valid from 1 November - early January during the Christmas exhibition.
The booking code for National Art Pass members is ARTFUNDCARDREQUIRED
The code must be entered in the coupon/promo code box on the billing information page, and will only work on one ticket in the basket. Each member will need to book individually to redeem the discount.
Members must present a valid Art Pass on arrival to validate their discounted entry ticket.
