In this workshop you will design and create a book sculpture inspired by the current exhibition 'House of Stories'.
You will be guided through a number of folding and cutting techniques to turn an old book into a one off piece of art. Be inspired by the story itself, the illustrations or simple shapes and structures, and create an artwork to display for years to come. Book sculpture has become a popular area of art and design with many artists keen to use recycled materials such as books that are being thrown away or are broken, and using these to make sculptural forms. Please bring a hardback book you are happy to turn into a unique sculptural design. Some books will be provided if you do not wish to bring your own.
