Residential Visit: South West Wales

| Various Locations

This four day trip encompasses a variety of visits to attractions in South West Wales. As well as time spent in Swansea, there is a chance to see at least two exhibitions at the largest arts centre in Wales, in Aberystwyth, and there are trips to Margam Park, where the 18th century Orangery is the longest in the British Isles, Gregynog and Aberglasney, where there is a guided tour of the gardens. There are two trips to National Trust properties: Llanerchaeron, an 18th century Welsh minor gentry estate with a villa which was the early work of John Nash, and Dinefwr, that includes a 12th century castle, a Capability Brown park and Newton House, a renovated Victorian property. On Friday evening there is also a talk by Prof Prys Morgan, Emeritus Professor of history at Swansea University.
