Generations of Howards made the Grand Tour to Europe, returning home with antiquities, paintings and other treasures which have filled the building and defined the character of Castle Howard.
On this exclusive tour the curators will explain what these treasures are, and how they came to be collected, transported and displayed at Castle Howard. This event lasts 75 minutes.

Opening times
The Gardens and Skelf Island Adventure Playground are open daily, from 10am (9am for Friends of Castle Howard) with last admission to the Gardens at 4pm.
The House opens to visitors from 18th April 2025. A visit in 2025 promises a grand reveal of a once-in-a-generation project transforming the House interiors, including restoring the lost Tapestry Drawing Room.
National Art Pass holders are entitled to a 50% discount on inclusive House and Grounds admission. Admission for all of our affiliate schemes can be redeemed on the day at the Ticket Office by presenting a valid membership card or proof of entitlement.
