Highlights include the unveiling of the restored Tapestry Drawing Room, returning to its 18th-century splendour for the first time since the devastating fire of 1940. This magnificent room displays 300-year-old tapestries originally created for the space in the 1700s, alongside the refurbished Long Gallery and Grand Staircase, and a complete rehang and redisplay of Castle Howard’s collection of paintings and sculptures.

The Gardens and Skelf Island Adventure Playground are open daily, from 10am (9am for Friends of Castle Howard) with last admission to the Gardens at 4pm.
The House opens to visitors from 18th April 2025. A visit in 2025 promises a grand reveal of a once-in-a-generation project transforming the House interiors, including restoring the lost Tapestry Drawing Room.
