Including around 30 portraits and self-portraits by artists working over the last century.

As well as addressing standard portraiture, the exhibition highlights the artist's desire to capture something of themself. Traditional self-portraits by David Bomberg and Mark Gertler are contrasted with examples by Sarah Lucas and Maud Sulter, revealing how contemporary artists have sought to both uphold and break away from the conventional stereotypes of the medium.

A key piece is Tracey Emin’s early autobiographical video work Why I Never Became a Dancer.
