Ugbrooke - SOLD OUT

Talk and Tour | Ugbrooke House

Monday 8 August 2016 - 11:00 until 16:00

Private visit to Ugbrooke House and Gardens near Chudleigh, home of Lord Clifford, which coincides with the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot Capability Brown, designer of the Ugbrooke parkland.

The visit starts with coffee in the orangery followed by two short talks: Hugh Meller on his 2015 work The Country Houses of Devon and an introduction to Capability Brown by Simon Bonvoisin, specialist in conservation, restoration and management of designed landscapes. He planned the restoration of Ugbrooke Park.

Enjoy the lakeside walk before lunch in the restored Adam library. Afterwards guests will tour the house, have tea and visit the garden.

This event has been organised by the Devon Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
