Coach Visit: Liberton House and Northfield House, Prestonpans

An exclusive opportunity to visit Liberton House, a private house built circa 1600 by William Little, son of Provost Little. Liberton is a fine fortified 'L' shaped Laird's house sitting within a walled garden laid out in the Renaissance manner. It boasts parterrres, borders, topiary, mazes, orchard, wild and water gardens. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at Liberton, but wine, coffee and soft drinks will be provided. After lunch, a visit to Northfield House, built in a similiar style and at a similar date to Liberton. The house was remodelled in the early 17th century and again in the late 19th century. There will be a tour of the house and then tea served by Mr and Mrs Finlay Lockie, Northfield's present owners.

Tickets are £22 to include coach travel, guided tours of both houses and tea and coffee.

At 10.15 am a coach will leave Haddington outside the Corn Exchange and return at 5.00 pm
