Step into a nostalgic world of handmade creatures and childhood emotions
Annie Montgomerie’s charming sculptural characters inhabit a world between childhood and adulthood, capturing feelings of nostalgia, shyness and hope. Handcrafted from vintage fabrics, faux fur and found materials, each cat, dog, fox and creature reflects memories of growing up and the emotions that remain with us.
Missies and Nippers explores the delicate balance between happiness and sadness, using playful forms to reveal more complex stories of identity, confidence and belonging. With their worn textures and carefully assembled details, these figures invite visitors to connect with the quieter experiences of being human.
All works from Annie Montgomerie: Missies and Nippers will be for sale, with proceeds supporting the artist and YSP’s charitable work.
