Returning to Yorkshire Sculpture Park after 10 years, Angela Harding is back with A Chronicle of Birds and Beasts.

This new exhibition marks a momentous moment in Harding’s career, showcasing her enormous talents as one of the most recognised printmakers and illustrators working in the UK today.

The show will feature many new works, including a special triptych of large prints - Golden Eagle and Fox, Waking Fox and White Hart and Crown - printed by master printmaker, Dan Bugg of Penfold Press in Selby. Many new works are based on her recent trip to Fair Isle, where she spent nine weeks working as artist in residence, these include 24 small oil paintings alongside book illustrations and works created for The Wilding Project with Isabella Tree, and Blossomise with Simon Armitage. Having worked with Simon Armitage in the past, they come together again for this exhibition, with Armitage creating words for Harding’s illustrations.

Angela lives in the smallest county in the UK, and her home is surrounded by fields of sheep, and her garden filled with birds and bird song. As an artist who draws on nature, she is acutely aware of the state of crisis our planet is in, and this has been an inspiration to her for working with conservationists, writers and authors, to produce new prints in an endeavour to highlight some of these issues.

All works will be for sale, with proceeds supporting our charitable aims. Own Art is available on most purchases at YSP Shop.
