Headstone Manor celebrates forty years of community determination, restoration, heritage preservation and local pride.
Headstone’s story is one of reinvention and community determination. After centuries as a farm and estate, local residents campaigned in the 1980s to create a museum for Harrow. Their vision became reality on May Day 1986, when the Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre officially opened its doors. Since then, restoration projects, fundraising appeals and national investment have transformed the Manor House, barns and grounds into the vibrant Headstone Manor & Museum we know today. This mini exhibition in the Vistors Cafe case celebrates 40 years of passion, persistence and pride and the people who made Harrow’s museum possible.
