An exhibition about the contribution of American artists who migrated to this country from the USA.
Following last year's revealing exhibition Us: From There to Here which exhibited artworks by artists by country of birth and traced their journeys to Great Britain, we are excited to continue the concept by curating an exhibition about the contribution of American artists who migrated to this country titled USA to UK from the Ben Uri Collection.
The artists include Alfred Cohen, David Gryn, Edward Toledano, Howard Baer, Jacob Epstein, Jacqueline Morreau, L. Michèle Franklin, Phyllis Gorlick-King, R. B. Kitaj and Sandra Fisher. We will also be unveiling a remarkable new acquisition by George Grosz who fled the Nazi regime to find safety in New York. This new acquisition brings our collection of his WW2 works to 3 which is the strongest body of work by Grosz in all UK Museums.
