Semi-abstract paintings capture interior worlds and deeply personal memories.
Sahara Longe’s first institutional solo exhibition presents a new series of semi-abstract paintings exploring memory, family and identity.
Inspired by old family photographs and Doris Lessing’s The Golden Notebook, Longe blends dreams and reality to create compositions that move between personal history and imagined worlds. Works range from intimate portraits to larger scenes, capturing fleeting moments such as schoolgirls in woollen jumpers or a solitary figure in a red velvet dress.
Presented alongside Dana Awartani’s Standing by the Ruins, the exhibitions include a programme of live performances and workshops.
