Feel the thunder of the drums, the crash of the cymbals, and the pulse of the gong as a magnificently decorated Chinese lion bursts onto the stage. Watch in awe as the lion springs to life leaping, hopping, shaking its grand mane and blinking its expressive, dazzling eyes, playfully engaging with the crowd throughout its colourful, high‑energy performance.

The Chinese Lion Dance is a vibrant tradition often seen at celebrations, believed to sweep away bad luck and usher in joy, prosperity, and good fortune. It’s an unforgettable spectacle that delights families of all ages.

All three performances will be brought to life by the South’s leading troupe: Waterside Lion Dance. Founded in 2001 by Ricky Tang, whose passion for Chinese Kung Fu and dance ignited the group’s creation, they captivate audiences with their skill, dedication, and showmanship.

This performance is planned to take place in the garden at RAMM. We do have a wet weather plan if needed so it will still go ahead whatever the weather.
