Mongolian Summer - Horse Archery Shows

22 July - 31 August 2026
11am and 2pm
Free to all

The Royal Armouries tiltyard is being brought to life this summer with daily live Mongolian horse shows.

To celebrate our exciting new exhibition, Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Changed the World, the Royal Armouries is bringing Mongolian culture to Leeds, with free family-friendly events.

See spectacular riders demonstrate the many techniques the Mongol horseman used to build their empire; from mounted archery to two handed maces, in our daily live horse shows (11am and 2pm).

Head inside the museum and follow the trail through the Asian and African Gallery featuring Batu The Fast, a Mongolian messenger and scout, before making your own paper ger (yurt).

Finish your trip with a visit to our new exhibition, and get up close to 250 rare Mongolian artefacts never before seen in the UK. Kids under 16 go free.
