Join experts from the Historic Environment Division (HED) for an introductory workshop to traditional stone carving.
During this hands-on session at the Ulster Folk Museum, you’ll learn the basics of stone masonry and carve your very own door number plaque to take home. Guided by experienced practitioners who work to maintain and repair Northern Ireland’s state care monuments, you’ll gain insight into a craft rooted in heritage and preservation.
This taster workshop is perfect for anyone with an interest in stone masonry - whether you’re an enthusiast, considering training as a stonemason, or work in construction and want to better understand traditional materials.
No prior experience is required. A full-day experience with lunch included.
