Gain an insight into the archaeology research at Beningbrough from National Trust Archaeologist Mark Newman

Join archaeologist Mark Newman for a fascinating talk exploring the hidden histories beneath Beningbrough’s gardens. Drawing on findings from past excavations, this session reveals what archaeology can tell us about the design, use, and evolution of the Wilderness and surrounding landscapes. Discover how layers of soil and stone offer insight into centuries of garden-making, from formal layouts to wilder, more naturalistic styles.

One of a programme of exhibition talks taking place on the second Friday of the month, with specialists exploring different aspect of the exhibition.
