Completed in 1716, this grand Georgian mansion is set in parkland with stunning gardens.
Inspired by the Baroque buildings he had seen in Rome on his Grand Tour, John Bourchier created his own Italian palace in Yorkshire. The impressive rooms are the backdrop for changing exhibitions on the first floor art gallery and a recent £2.3 million infrastructure project includes improved lighting, allowing the art and architecture to be seen like never before.
Historic stories of the estate and people can be discovered on the ground floor alongside porcelain and key pieces of furniture. There is also a fully equipped Victorian laundry and a working walled garden, which supplies the restaurant. There is also a wilderness play area and many family activities.
