Completed in 1716, this grand Georgian mansion is set in parkland with stunning gardens.

Inspired by the Baroque buildings he had seen in Rome on his Grand Tour, John Bourchier created his own Italian palace in Beningbrough. The impressive rooms in his stately home, which celebrated its tercentenary in 2016, are a perfect backdrop for over 100 18th-century portraits on permanent loan from the National Portrait Gallery. The people in the portraits are some of the most influential figures of the era, and Beningbrough is a setting where they would have felt entirely at home.

Other collections on display include porcelain and key pieces of furniture. There is also a fully equipped Victorian laundry and a working walled garden, which supplies the restaurant. Children will love the wilderness play area and there are many family activities to enjoy.
