Where nature and art intertwine, celebrating Wilderness Gardens through historic collections and contemporary installations.
Step into a sensory-rich celebration of nature and creativity at Beningbrough Hall’s Reddihough Galleries. Whispers of the Wilderness invites visitors to explore the evolving relationship between art and the natural world through large-scale willow sculptures by acclaimed artist Laura Ellen Bacon. Her organic forms evoke the movement and energy of wild landscapes, transforming the historic interiors of the Great Hall and Saloon.
The exhibition also features nine historic pieces from the National Trust collection, tracing the 18th-century fascination with wilderness gardens as spaces of retreat and reflection. Visitors can engage with soundscapes, poetry, and a specially designed Drawing Studio by Tanya Raabe-Webber, encouraging artistic participation across all ages and abilities.
Timed to coincide with garden designer Andy Sturgeon’s transformation of Beningbrough’s Wilderness Garden, this immersive experience bridges past and present, inviting audiences to reflect, create, and connect with nature through art.
