Swallows and Amazons Adventure trail

We have a brand-new Swallows and Amazons trail around the museum! Grab your map, binoculars, sketchbook and see where your imagination takes you.
Creative activities
19 July – 30 August
Have a go at indoor den building, creating a Swallows and Amazons flag, and writing stories in a creative letter which you can post via our pigeon post letterbox.
Blue Space Interactive Play Area
29 March – 21 September
These large-scale loose parts play system encourages kids to enjoy exploring concepts relating to engineering, construction and adventure through interactive play.
Other Adventures
Pick up a trail guide at the front desk and explore Windermere's wildlife! Spot animals, plants, and creatures around the museum. You can also enjoy a fun interactive adventure and put your codebreaking skills to the test to save Dolly the steamboat.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We will be closed on 25–26 December 2024. The Museum will also be closed from 20–31 January 2025, but the café and shop will reopen on 22 January.
