A solo exhibition by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.

Known for her large-scale surreal sculptures, Vasconcelos displays works throughout the galleries at Jupiter Artland. Using various domestic objects, including plastic cutlery and saucepans, she constructs stunning, playful, and direct images that reference socio-political topics addressing a variety of subjects, from immigration to gender violence.

Highlights include Carmen Miranda, a large-scale replica of a stiletto shoe, created using stainless steel pans and concrete, which addresses contrasting notions of femininity and gender through the use of the industrial-like materials, and a similarly imposing sculpture in the shape of a teapot, created using wrought iron.
