Northern Lights: Edvard Munch and the Scandinavian tradition

Lecture | Bolesworth Castle

Tuesday 30 April 2013 - 19:00

In his 1895 painting 'The Scream', the Norwegian painter Evard Munch created one of the most iconic images of his era. Munch was part of a group of Scandinavian artists who produced highly inventive and beautiful images of Nordic life. Eric Shanes will not only explore the work of Munch but also the output of artists ranging from the playwright and painter August Strindberg to the Finnish painter Axseli Gallen-Kallela.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
