Visit to Derby Museum, Art Gallery and Derby Cathedral
Visit | Derby Museum
Tuesday 23 April 2013 - 09:00 until 17:00
The Derby Museum holds a remarkable collection of paintings by Joseph Wright of Derby and these have recently been cleaned and restored by our committee Art Fund members, Mark and Diana Roberts. A special visit to the gallery has been organised with an hour long lecture by Lucy Salt, the Keeper of Art, with a chance to see the Wright paintings in the newly renovated gallery. The visit will begin with coffee and tea in a gallery on the top floor which will be displaying an exhibition of the photographic work of Brian Griffin, 'Still Waters'.
Lunch has been booked at a restaurant five minutes walk away at Le Bistrot Pierre, consisting of two courses and a glass of wine. After lunch we will walk to the Cathedral where an hour long tour will be provided.
This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
