We need your help to raise £25,000 to kit out our newly restored Fire Station across the road, bringing it back to life as an inspiring new art space.
In 2014, a derelict former Fire Station was donated to the South London Gallery (SLG) by a generous benefactor. Over the past four years we’ve been restoring this Grade II listed building with 6a architects, transforming it into a new contemporary art space which will be the SLG’s second venue.
Located just a short walk from the gallery, the Fire Station will be a place where you can enjoy contemporary art exhibitions, workshops and creative activities.
As building work draws to a close, we urgently need to raise the final funds so that the Fire Station is ready for visitors this autumn.
We need to raise £25,000 to kit out the Fire Station with furniture and equipment. Your donations will help us provide free and exciting art experiences for all and go directly towards preparing our new education space, archive room, artists’ studio and communal kitchen. For the communal kitchen to become a hub for artist-led events and community meals it will need cooking equipment and furniture. The education space will need tables and chairs to host adults and children as part of the SLG’s expanded education and heritage programmes.
Please support us by contributing as much or as little as you can and help us transform the Fire Station into an inspiring art space.
